ourselves!"
ourselves!"

~Tao Te Ching
As the mother of two wonderful children, both of whom entered
the world with the loving help of midwives, I understand the
passionate, intimate nature of giving birth and how vital it is for
the mother, child and family to feel safe, comfortable and in
control.
In 2001 I entered the childbirth profession as a doula, supporting
women birthing in a hospital setting. From 2002-2005 I trained
under three midwives as an apprentice midwife with
New Moon
Midwifery.

In 2007 I obtained my CPM credential (Certified Professional
Midwife) through the
North American Registry of Midwives.

Other Hands at  Births:
I also work with two wonderful assistants. It is my goal to have
clients meet my assistants during the course of their prenatal
care.  Usually one, but sometimes both assistants will attend a
labor and birth with me. Both are sweet and compassionate
women who have a lot of experience as mothers (both of whom
have given birth at home) and birth assistants.

Kate Stroud-  Kate is a mother, a massage therapist, a birth
doula, and a childbirth educator at the
Center for the
Childbearing Year.

Amy Morgan- Amy is a mother, a birth and postpartum doula, a
music teacher, and accomplished musician.

Consulting Midwives:
Every now and then, a time arises when I need to call upon the
help of other midwives in the community. We are very fortunate to
have so many wonderful midwives! You can learn more about
